Very close to Lindau’s history and Lake Constance – that’s the Pulverturm on the western tip of Lindau Island. But the historic tower is by no means dusty. Projector, internet connection and a fully equipped kitchen make the Pulverturm a comfortable event location with that certain something.
Einzigartige Kulisse
This is a very special place – you can already guess that when you approach the Pulverturm on the western tip of Lindau Island through the picturesque park. Here you breathe not only Lake Constance air, but also history. Built in 1508, the building was initially used as a defense tower. Later, the citizens of Lindau stored their powder here – hence the current name – before the tower was given to the then mayor as a summer residence at the turn of the 20th century. The historical shell remained unchanged, but behind the two-meter thick outer walls, a recreation room and the staircase to the upper floor were built under the direction of the important architect Friedrich von Thiersch. “From a waiting place against the enemy raid, a place of cheerful conviviality has been created,” reads one of the many loving paintings and carvings on the walls and ceiling. Since its restoration in 1988, the Pulverturm has once again shone in its former glory – as an exclusive location for moments that will not soon be forgotten.
General about the tower
The Pulverturm is suitable for events with up to 40 people. On the first floor there is a checkroom, bar and a fully equipped kitchen – we will be happy to take care of the catering if you wish. At the tables on the upper floor you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere of times gone by while having a great view of Lake Constance. The toilets are located in the basement of the building. A beamer, internet connection, screen and flipcharts make the Pulverturm also usable for workshops or breakouts at large events. For all practical questions, a staff member is available on site during the event. By the way: You are also welcome to use the space in front of the Pulverturm – for a barbecue or champagne reception. Or simply to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
